Good Life Cafe: Columbia, SC
Happy Wednesday! Thanks for coming back for another brunch review. I hope you are having a great week no matter when you are reading this! 💛
For today’s brunch review, I am reviewing Good Life Cafe located in Columbia, South Carolina. Good Life Cafe is a staple all-vegan restaurant on Main Street in Downtown Columbia. All of their ingredients come from the earth and 90% of all of their dishes are made fresh and in-house. Good Life Cafe serves brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM - 2 PM.
My Order:
Breakfast Burrito (tofu scrambler, hash browns, spinach, salsa, and cheese rolled up in a spinach tortilla)
Eggplant Bacon
Review:
Good Life Cafe is the first vegan restaurant that I am reviewing on the blog, but it will not be the last!! I really enjoyed my experience at Good Life Cafe and will definitely go back. They have a full coffee bar, a grab & go market, and they sell their own cold pressed juices. So you can stop in for a quick pick me up or dine in for a meal!
The vibe of the restaurant is very casual, but inviting. It is a place that you can come enjoy a coffee and read alone or meet up with friends. The restaurant has large windows and an exposed industrial ceiling with lots of greenery throughout. The chairs are yellow and green, both earthy tones, which I thought added a cute touch. Also, there is both indoor and outdoor seating.
Everything on the menu at Good Life Cafe is vegan! I think it is important to note that I am not a vegan, but I stopped eating red meat (beef or pork) over three years ago. I have explored the idea of gradually leaning towards a more plant-based diet and I definitely value the health benefits that can come with that. However, I am not sure I will ever become a vegan lol but I do enjoy trying new vegan foods and seeing how they compare to non-vegan foods.
For my order, I got the Breakfast Burrito, which is only available on the brunch menu, and a side of eggplant bacon. The breakfast burrito was amazing! I would place it in the top 5 breakfast burritos I have ever had. The tofu scrambler inside was very similar to eggs and the hash browns were crispy just how I like them.
On the other hand, I did not enjoy the eggplant bacon as much. It definitely does not taste like regular bacon or turkey bacon at all! It was very crispy and had a unique flavor, so I am curious to see what a real vegan would say about it. I’ll have to ask one of my vegan friends to come with me next time!
Overall, I would highly recommend Good Life Cafe to both vegans and non-vegans! I also have to go back and try some of their cold pressed juices. If you are ever looking for a great vegan spot in Columbia, check out Good Life Cafe!
