Cafe Strudel: Columbia, SC
Hey foodies! Happy Sunday! 💛 I hope you all are doing well.
For today’s brunch review, I am reviewing Cafe Strudel located in Columbia, South Carolina. Cafe Strudel is a staple restaurant for brunch in the city. They have two locations: West Columbia and Lexington. Cafe Strudel is open Monday through Saturday from 8 AM - 4 PM and on Sundays from 10 AM - 4 PM.
My Order:
Hangover Hashbrowns (hashbrowns, onions, banana peppers, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, two eggs)
Hawaiian French Toast (Hawaiian pineapple bread)
Review:
Let’s talk about my experience at Cafe Strudel! I went to the location in West Columbia. They have a small amount of parking at the back of the building, as well as a parking map on their website for other areas to find parking. I went on a Saturday and they were very busy, which is a good sign of the quality!
I waited for about 10 minutes and then was sat at a table inside. Cafe Strudel has both indoor and covered outdoor seating. They also have a full open bar with available seating. They have an unlimited coffee bar in the left corner and there are hand sanitizing stations throughout the restaurant.
The ambiance of the restaurant is very casual. It has a Southern cafe vibe with lots of local art on the walls. However, it does not have much of a brunch aesthetic. If you are looking for a place to get dressed up and have bottomless mimosas with your friends, this isn’t the best place for that.
My waitress was very nice and attentive. She explained some of their popular menu items, including the Famous Hangover Hashbrowns. Before even coming to the restaurant I knew I wanted to try the hangover hashbrowns. I ordered a full order of those and the Hawaiian French Toast.
The food came out very quickly! When the food came out, a girl sitting at the table next to me asked me what I ordered because it looked so good. I completely understand why the hangover hashbrowns are famous. They were delicious. The Hawaiian French Toast was the perfect amount of sweetness to go with the savory hashbrowns.
Overall, the food and the service was amazing. If you are looking for a quick breakfast/brunch spot in Columbia, South Carolina, definitely check out Cafe Strudel!
