Tupelo Honey: Greenville, SC

Sunday Brunch at Tupelo Honey Cafe

For this week’s brunch, I visited Tupelo Honey Cafe at their Greenville, South Carolina location. Tupelo Honey is a widely popular Southern food spot with locations throughout the country. They serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM - 4 PM. Find their menu here.

My Order:

  • Mimosa (champagne, orange juice)

  • Mac & Cheese Bites (crispy fried mac and cheese, milk gravy, creole sofrito, chives)

  • Shoo Mercy Griddle (option of sweet potato pancakes or brioche french toast, buttermilk fried chicken, apple cider bacon, spiced pecans, powdered sugar, two fried eggs)

    • Modifications: I chose the french toast option, and I ordered it with no bacon and no pecans.

Shoo Mercy Griddle

Review:

Tupelo Honey did not disappoint! I went to their Sunday brunch with my younger sister for a fun sister date. The restaurant is located in downtown Greenville. Parking was typical for any downtown, there is either street parking or a parking garage nearby. The restaurant is well-lit with large windows and the kitchen is open so that people can see the chefs preparing the food.

They were implementing Covid-19 safety protocols by requiring patrons to wear a mask when they were not seated at their table and spacing out the tables to maintain social distancing. Tupelo Honey has both indoor and outdoor seating options.

My sister and I had a great waitress! She was very friendly and quick. The food came out decently fast. The Mac & Cheese Bites came out first and they were amazing! I have had quite a few mac and cheese bites in my time and Tupelo Honey’s are now in my top three. The Shoo Mercy Griddle was good as well. The french toast had a slight lemon flavor which was interesting, but it worked and the mimosa was standard.

The Tupelo Honey menu is non-red meat friendly because there are plenty of fried chicken options. However, it is probably not the best restaurant to check out if you are vegan or vegetarian. Overall, I enjoyed my food and my time with my sister at Sunday brunch. If you are ever in the Greenville area, add Tupelo Honey Cafe to your list!

B.I.T.S. Rating:

I would give Tupelo Honey Cafe 3.5 out of 5 stars. The Mac & Cheese Bites stole the show and the rest of the food was good. It is definitely a Southern comfort food spot that I would go back to.

What I Wore:

For this look, I paired a simple denim blue jean with a loose crop top and heels. I added a small black crossbody bag and put my hair into a low ponytail. I am currently in the middle of a move so a lot of my clothes were packed up and I had to make do with what I could find. You can never go wrong with simplicity. Let me know your thoughts on the look!
